Total, Vertical, or Local Optimization

When you choose an alignment-seeded optimization, also choose one of the following:

• Total - Moves the seed in 3D to search for low-cost complying alignments

• Vertical - Limits movement to vertical only, so that the location of the alignment in plan does not change

• Local - Limits 3D movement to a user-defined section of the alignment, with only minor vertical movement beyond each end of the section in order to help balance earthworks
