General Tab
In the Preference Settings dialog, select the General tab.
From the General tab, you can:
Select the project units. The options are metric or imperial.
Select the format used when displaying stationing (chainage).
Select the number of significant figures used to display the volume and cost.
Select the font type and size used for labeling objects in the Plan View window.
Select how vertical curves are defined. Use either K-values or radius. K-values define the rate of change of gradient on parabolic curves. As a guide, the local radius of curvature at the peak of the parabola is 100 times the K-value.
Select quick object creation. Use quick object creation if you are an advanced user. When entering data, you will not be prompted for the appropriate data for the feature you are entering. The previous object entered will be used as a template. You must then make the necessary changes in the Feature Properties window.
Make inactive features or zones (“objects”) gray.
Select how data errors are displayed. Select the Validate data check box to view data errors when they occur. If the Validate Errors check box is clear the warning flag in the status bar indicates there are errors in your data. Select Data/Data Validation to view the errors.
