End Points of the Route
This type of geographic feature is limited to two items that are always present: Start and Finish. These two points dictate where alignments will begin and end during optimization.

If features are locked and cannot be edited, unlock them by clicking the Lock Feature Points button on the Edit Tab.
In the Scenario Explorer select the Layer view tab.
Expand the End Points layer and select the start or end point (whichever you wish to move).
In the Feature Properties window edit the coordinates of the end point. Alternatively in the Plan view click the Start point (or Finish point) and then drag-and-drop the point to the required position.
The elevation (Z coordinate) is obtained from the digital terrain model. You can use the Feature Properties box to edit the Z value.
For a road alignment, the z value should the height at the crown of the pavement. For a rail alignment, the z value should be the height at the top of the earthworks.
Drag-and-drop the green handle to change the bearing.
Tip: For greater sensitivity, grasp the green handle and then move the cursor away from the point.
Note: The grade of the end point will also change when you move the end point. By default, the Quantm Desktop software determines the grade of the end point by calculating the grade of the digital terrain model at the end point location along the end point’s bearing. This grade value can be adjusted manually within the Feature Properties window.
