Compare Alignments

When viewing multiple alignments, you can compare both the total alignment cost and the cost difference between alignments in the Alignment Comparison window. To compare alignment cost savings between alignments, begin by viewing multiple alignments. In the Alignment Comparison window, right-click the alignment that you wish to compare the other alignment costs against and select Benchmark. If this option is grayed out, check the Cost as % savings only box in the Alignment tab of the Preference Settings, see Alignment Tab.

Once a benchmark alignment has been chosen, the remaining alignments are shown with a percentage cost difference from this benchmark alignment with negative percentages meaning cheaper alignments than the benchmark and positive percentages more expensive than the benchmark. This is useful for presentations where you do not wish to show the costs of the alignments, but do wish to show the variations in costs of several alternatives.
