Naming Convention for Editable Alignments

A new alignment will be created and will appear in the Cost Comparison dialog. The alignment will be the same name with the prefix ‘E_’. Editable nodes will appear along this alignment that can be moved both horizontally and vertically. Subsequent iterations of the editable alignment will also have the prefix ‘E_’ to their name. Therefore, an editable version of an editable alignment will contain ‘E_E_’ as the prefix to the alignment name.

If you convert an original alignment to an editable alignment more than once, subsequent alignments will also be given the suffix ‘_x’ where x is a version number. For example, you begin with alignment ‘CorridorA’ and convert to editable. The subsequent alignment created is ‘E_CorridorA’. You convert this edited alignment as editable, and the subsequent alignment created is called ‘E_E_CorridorA’. You begin again with the original alignment ‘CorridorA’ and convert this to an editable alignment, the resulting file is called ‘E_CorridorA_1’. Another conversion of the original alignment would yield ‘E_CorridorA_2’.
