Import an Existing Alignment
Import a CAD alignment into Quantm Desktop software
From the Insert tab, click Import Alignment.Â
From the list, select an alignment format. Available file formats include:
XYZ Centerline String (a space-delimited file)
Note: A file that uses the XYZ Centerline String format must not contain a header and must be space delimited.
AutoCAD DXF
ESRI Shape
Integrator V4 A3D
LandXML v1.0
i-model (ICM)
Third-party road definition file
In the Alignment file field, browse for the alignment source file.
Note: If you selected Third-Party road definition file, browse is not available. Select OK and proceed through the import wizard, see Importing Third Party road definition files. In the Import alignment as field, enter a name for the imported alignment file.
Tip: This name is the name of the file where the alignment is stored.
Note: This field is not available if you select LandXML v1.0; See Importing LandXML alignments
Select OK. The alignment appears in a layer named with the alignment name. By default, the alignment will be inactive. You can make the alignment active in the Scenario Explorer window / Layer View tab.
