Geometry Data
Geometry data defines geometric parameters for the horizontal and vertical alignment and the template that will be used. You can define the geometric standards that an alignment has to conform to either in the study area as a whole (default geometry) or in specific zones (local geometry). One scenario can contain several uniquely named geometric standards, each applied to a different part of the study area.
Note: At least one geometry type must be defined. If only one geometry type is defined this will become the default geometry type.
Enter or edit geometry data
On the Data toolbar, click . Alternatively, select Geometric Parameters from the Data menu. The Geometric Parameters dialog appears. The dialog that appears will depend on the route type (road or rail) you selected when you created the project or the scenario.
The default Geometry type is displayed. (It has a blue tick symbol in the Geometry Type window.) This default setting is applied across the whole terrain model unless a local geometry type is specified for an area.
Tip: To make a geometry type the default setting, right-click its name, and then select Default Setting.
Select the Geometry Type to view and/or edit, alternatively to add a new geometry type, right-click the list of geometries and select New.
View or Edit the Geometry type parameters. See Horizontal Parameters; Vertical Parameters; and Templates; for a description of the Geometric parameters.
